Desi Brand Diabeto needs your support as it fights Diabetes

Almost 3 years ago I met two very bright, young and enthusiastic entrepreneurs from Bombay. They had started a venture called Farasbee which had produced a Diabetes management solution called Diabeto. Srikanth Pawar and Himanshu Jain swore to get into Diabetes management due to the lack of engagement system that affected their family members.  I covered them in this blog at that time. We had worked on a case study that was paunched at a premier B school in Bangalore and they had even presented to a healthcare team at IBM.

Three years ago I had met two young enthusiastic Mumbaikars and understood their vision for Diabetes management in India.The product was called Daibeto. We had gone on to build a case study and launched it at Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication Bangalore. I had even covered them in this very blog as an article – How an Indian start up was joining the global fight against Daibetes.

Philips Healthcare to set up 700 Automated External Defibrillators in 2015

A few days I was watching a video on You Tube which showed the callous attitude among commuters towards ambulances on the roads. Many drivers don’t give way to an ambulance that might be speeding away to save someone’s life.

As a matter of fact in India Sudden Cardiac arrest is almost 99% fatal as health workers never reach in time. The first 5 minutes is very critical for a sudden cardiac arrest patient. In India we have 660,000 deaths due to sudden cardiac arrest and if help reaches in time we can save almost 95 % of these patients. But then who can save such a patient and what would be the solution ?

Why India needs more patient engagement and experience channels ?

Patient engagement and experience in India continues to be a back burner despite our progress in healthcare and medical facilities. If one looks at the US, Canada , Europe or Japan there are many patient engagement portals that provide information, build communities and enhance the experience of patients suffering from a certain disease as well as the patient parties that are affected.
