Indian startup leverages Internet of Things to maintain health

Recently I wrote about how Internet of Things or IoT can change the face of the healthcare in India. As I have reiterated in the past we have a unique opportunity to create a model that will provide healthcare to 1.25 billion people. No other country has this chance and we have to grab it with both hands.

Now I came across this start up in Bangalore that is using Internet of Things to develop a platform for preventive health. I am yet to research more or speak to someone there, but was very intrigued by this product. The name of the startup is Cooey and the product is Cooey Smart Blood Pressure Arm Monitor is an easy-to-use smart home blood pressure monitoring device. According to Gartner there are going to be more than 21 billion connected devices by 2020 and I think these devices would be the key to maintaining health in India. I believe personal health care management would be the base of the new proposed healthcare model.

This particular device is  available on Flipkart and you can use this link to buy the product.  I am planning to do so next week and will be writing a review on my experience. So you might want to wait for my review before buying. If you have already used this device would love to hear about your feedback.
