Philips launches global start-up acceleration program for AI in healthcare

Following its successful health technology start-up acceleration programs in Bangalore last year, Philips has opened applications for its global start-up acceleration program. The theme for this global program across multiple locations, including, US, Europe, India and China is AI in Healthcare.

The 12-week program will provide early-stage healthcare AI start-ups with access to experts both from within Philips and its global ecosystem of hospitals, clinicians, investors, and partners. The Philips HealthWorks program is an intensive 12-week tailored program designed to help the start-ups build, test, de-risk and scale their ideas.

During the course of this year’s 3-month program from September to December, the chosen start-ups will have access to access to experts both from within Philips and its global ecosystem of hospitals, clinicians, investors, and partners. Applicants can apply to join, as well as find out more about the Philips HealthWorks start-up program at https://www.healthworks.philips.com/pages/AI_Healthcare_2018/

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Srinivas Prasad, CEO – Philips Innovation Campus, Bengaluru said, “Last year in the first cohort, we had talented start-ups with some great ideas in the field of healthcare. This year with our theme, AI in Healthcare, we aim to enhance our approach together with leading startups in the field. We stay dedicated to our efforts to help start-ups strengthen their value proposition and become successful sustainable businesses.”

By partnering with start-ups Philips aims to accelerate the commercialization of complementary solutions that contribute to the needs of customers in Philips’ strategic areas of focus with the goal of developing an ecosystem of solutions that benefit customers and patients.
